Is it due to stress?
Does the ram had any hiding place?

I got my wild caught colombian ram a couple of weeks ago. This fish is having clamped fin tail now. Don't seem to open up recently even though it will still open its dorsal tail fully from time to time. Feeding well and very active. Can it be cured? I know clamped fins is a disease but does it only localised only on certain fin like my case only clamped tail fin? Can it be cured? Looks like it can never open its tail fully. It was not like this when it was bought.

No hiding place but it is not hiding at all. It is always at the front of the tank following my finger and always thinking that there is food. Very active. If not for the tail, I would not think that there is something wrong with him.
I also take into consideration that the water flow might be a bit strong for him but even when I turn off the flow to work on my tank maintenance, the fin remains close.
Just noticed that there is blood streak around the tail nearest the body. Think it could have injured itself.
Which are the parameters to test?
Check the ammonia levels... red streaks on a fish's body might be an indication its somehow affected by ammonia.
Otherwise it could just be ill or perhaps injured.
