Yes, i do. Just water only.

Yes I do.
The other day I was emptying out a tank when I ran out of pails. I tried using one used for mopping and could smell dettol which I use as a cleaner. The smell was there even after washing the pail.
Suckerfish no eat poo poo.
I have 2 pails just for water change. 1 for siphoning out the tank water and 1 for ageing water. Definitely dont want to take any chances.
Thanks for all the replies.
It seems that it's good to have dedicated pails for water change..
I also use dedicated pail. Don't want to take any risk due to residue from washing chemical.
Just to check, do you guys use those normal red/blue pails or some specific types of pails for ageing and water change?
I use those normal red pails. Serve the purpose. Never heard of any other special pail for fish keeping. Just make sure you wash them before every use. You never know whether lizard or cockroach poo on them when you keep them in your store room.
How long do you intend to age the water?
I age it only for like 1 hour, just to let the water temperature to stabilize and the anti-cholrine to work.
Anyway, I use dedicated pails for water change.
try to get an air stone and circulate the water as well if you intend to age it to keep the water circulated .
Usually I will aged the water for a few days as I'm using the water to top up the tank due to evaporation every now and then.
Yup, read about this in AQ. Hence what I do now is fill up the pail, pour the OF anti chlorine and turn on the air pump every night to bubble the water. Of cos covering the top of the pail by putting my fish stuff container box on top.

Yes, I do have a dedicated pail for water changes.
Not worth the risk to share it with other household pails I feel.
Same here. Don't feel safe using the mopping pail. Lots of cleaning chemicals inside.
