    Hello,
    i have 80l aquarium which is in process of cycling 2weeks. Two days ago i bought Utricularia Graminifolia. I decide to register on this forum to ask your about caring, the plant is so beautiful and i dont want to do something wrong.

    I am the begineer and i just want that this plant make green carpet in aquarium. The temp. in aquarium is 25C. I have Tetra Complete substrate and i dont use CO2. Light is T8 15w daylight. I also use fertilizer like Tetra PlantMin.


    So, i just want to ask you what i have to do in start that my plant suceed? What is your advises? Is necessery to soft water,to add Fe in water etc?..

    Think you will need to input CO2 for your current setup, else you can try dry start method for the plant to adapt to your tank conditions first.

    Pressurised CO2 would be better as these liquid CO2 stuff is slightly harder for the plants to be utilized for photosynthesis. Plus the UG you got is most likely grown from an emmersed culture, so going the dry start method would put less stress on the plants and allow them to adapt faster and better.
    But not to worry, I do use seachem excel (which is a similar product to easylife carbo) with pressurized CO2 as an additional source of carbon and acts as an algaecide at the same time.

    Looking for a solution for UG from a sage too. So far i am using co2, aquasoil and adding ferts daily, not much progress for 3 weeks, they are only surviving, not growing at all.

    I hope yours will grow well razer.
