Lots of sarawak registered timber truck queing up in Sarawak-Kalimantan border at Tebedu town because tomorrow(Oct 15th,2004) is the last day for exporting timber to sarawak through that checkpoint.

Most of the drivers are Indonesia. They are rushing to bring as many timber as possible to Kuching before the deadline. When they return back to Kalimantan, they will purchase a few boxes of beer to celebrate for each trip because transporting timber is consider very high paid job in Kalimantan.

I hope the new law to close the border for all timber truck will stop the deforestation problem in Kalimantan.
