Imo, your hills are to short, covered by the plants at the front and I'd prefer if p. Helferi are planted in bulks

Cute looking nano. I feel if u can remove the internal filter/pump and use the freed up space to scape, the overall look will be better.

Quick update, here's what I added after some suggestions.

Added more lava rocks in the background. Took out the powerhead filter and replaced it with 2 'hang on filters' on each side of the tank. CO2 diffuser added since the powerhead was previously connected to Co2 has been replaced with hang on filters.

So... tell me, how does this look? What other improvements are needed?

already looks better without the powerhead. can consider wrap your lava rocks with moss or riccia ..

c02 Diffuser takes up about 20% of the space from the front view.. you can consider putting some stem plants where the diffuser is.

Re: 1 foot Nano : Red hills

    Hi Marle
Thanks for the suggestions. Yeah, I agree on the diffuser taking too much space. I had it lying around so I thought I'd use it temporarily until I get a new glass nano diffuser.

As for the wrapping the rocks with riccia, I think I'll skip that for now as the thought if trimming the riccia would be tricky on the rocks as in my experience riccia grows quite fast under highlighting. I've inserted some tripatita plants nonetheless amongst the rocks and I'll wait for them to grow in. Trimming them would be easier to manage I think.
