I like to know more about electronic CO2 generator. I just found out today that such equipment exists. Can anybody direct me to a website that has this info. I like to know what features they have and the prices.
Can anybody comment the reliability and maintenance/running cost of this equipment.

I would strongly discourage you to use this stuff as it only suffocate your fish rather than provide CO2 to your plant, it has been proved by some users from HK and China. Furthermore, the refill is quite expensive. IMO, cylinder is the best even it may explode(That is extremely rare case).

Do you guys still remember one of our member, fishlife? He is one of the victim.[]

I heard that the generator uses up some O2 in the water in order to produce CO2.That might be the main reason. Please correct me if i am wrong.

Icic , maybe he didnt adjust properly
cos this one can adjust a dial to regulate the Co2 output production via voltage [:]

    hihi
    that's not quite correct, alfa
the problem with the electronic co2 generator is that the manufacturers have never mentioned the exact mechanism of operation

however, there is a certain caveat that comes with carbo-plus : does not work well in very soft water
this led certain people to experiment
and their conclusion is that it consumed HCO3- in the water as part of the process (check APD archives if you're interested, and if you can't find it, sorry, but i don't remember the exact date i read it, but it's there, and you can always post it on APD again)

it shouldn't take up o2 from the water
i cannot understand why it would suffocate fish
as always, the usual precautions that stem from using external co2 should be taken to prevent overdose
more likely he just OD'ed his fish by turning it on too high
or the drop in kH caused a massive pH plunge resulting in fish death

Overdosing is possible, anyway i still support CO2 cylinder. For those who insisted in buying it , God bless you.[]

The chemistry is a bit too complicated for me. Maybe just bad product, anyway how much this system cost? Wht is the popular brand? I still like to have a look. Thanks.
