Hi,
Need advise on the use of Electronic Ballast vs a Regular one.
My understanding is E ballast is cooler in operating temperature and cost more.
comparing the 2 types which one will consume more electricity?
I was told by an electrician that the regular ballast will last longer. True?
any opinion most welcome. Thanks in advance

Since they give out much less heat, they will cause less damage to the plastic parts of the light sets. And we can spend lesser energy on cooling the tanks.
My oldest eBallast is about 3 years and still running OK.
I recommend using them as I found my electricity usage have continued to reduced somewhat since I converted my 6 x iron-core ballast to eBallast in May.
My friend also tested that the iron-core ballast draws uses more current than an eBallast to light the same tube.
