Of course. Too tired on Sunday morning to do it and the rest of Sunday is family time.

Thanks. Just a 6x2x2 tank in a normal size home for average Singaporean. But it does reduce the space in the living room somewhat. No sofa... just 2 arms chairs.

You mean on purpose or accidentally? Green Chapter's project at Katong 112 is full of tall wood. The arowanas in there have no problems. But that is a much bigger tank. My tank is comparatively smaller, not enough space for both tall hardscape and arowana swimming space. The arowana, when it is bigger will have a hard time turning. Plus if it gets a fright, it will dart or thrash... either case its not good to have pointy hardscape around.

Limz_777, good idea. The left side wires will go behind the overflow, so no problem there. The right side one can go close to the right edge, but not completely due the hood. Was planning to use cable organiser, but my old brain keep thinking only got black. Now I shall go source for a white one.

The gaps in the plastic comb for the overflow is too wide. All the little fishy is going to swim through and down the sump.

The hardware store at Serangoon North next to the bird shop sells rolls of stainless steel mesh that you can use to replace the comb.

The ballast is in the cabinet and too big (i.e visible) to put on top.

I wanted to go with a white background (i.e. wall) instead of the usual black, but I have a roll of black backing paper (non-stick type) at home. Going to try it out and see which looks better. Then don't have to hide the cables! Or maybe find opaque white backing paper instead.

Thanks. Was planning to do that, as well mesh up the lower intake too. Need to prevent Nerite snails from going in and clogging the sump drain pipe!

I think you can find the Opaque white backing paper in DIY shops. What kind of Arowana is going to this tank?

but I have several problem. Such as:
    - Algae eater that compatible with arowana (CAE, SAE, otto & Shrimps totally will be snack my aro )
    - Minimum tank size required
    - Chemical for plant that not dangerous for Arowana

    Many thank's for your attention..
    Hi Riva,

Did some research on alternative algae crew. This is the outcome:
    - Bristlenose Plecos. Starlight Bristlenose (L183) will be real nice, but expensive. Else get the common one.
    - Zebra Nerite snails (without spikes).
    - SAE

Re: Dragon Forest II (Arowana Planted) Setup

Bristlenose will put holes in large plants like Swords and RTL.
I've experienced it first hand with a couple of fish already.
And don't believe people who say that to avoid that keep them well fed.
They suck when and where they want to.

Re: Dragon Forest II (Arowana Planted) Setup

Thanks bryan. I had one Starlight Bristlenose in my in-laws tank with red tiger lotus... didn't get holes on the leaves at all. I'll still give it a shot in this tank... at most some lucky AQster(s) might get one or more pre-loved Starlight BN at pre-loved prices. The plants will grow back.
