    Hi AQ, can anyone help to id this algae?

    I think they look kinda nice if they do not become stringy hair algae kind..and perhaps carpet my rocks like a moss? Lol..

    Or any cause for worry?

    I think those are green algae or green spot algae? Don't think these will become stringy, so no worries!

    At this stage of growth, it could be a combination of various green algae... hopefully it develops into the green fuzzy algae (instead of the black type), so if you are keen to have a nice green fuzz coating the rocks, just have to let them grow out and see.

    Here is what the green fuzzy algae looks like coating the rocks in my tank (left photo, before they were melted off by my AlgExit test treatment ):



    I wish they will grow back again...

    Well, i basically just keep pulling out and harassing all the other algae... but leave the green fuzzy algae to grow. After a while, it becomes the only algae that covers the hardscape.
