Feed the female after the third day, pc by pc, and every alternate day,
or remove the female on the third day,
hope the best,
When I woke up this morning I saw my macrostomas mating. This is the 1st time for me and I know they have a reputation for being difficult to breed. So my hopes aren't high.
Anyway has anyone bred them before or has a knowledge on what to do next?
Im guessing that since the male's pouch is full with eggs i wont have to feed him? So do i have to feed the female? If so, will the male swallow the eggs if he sees food meant for the female?

Try to shield him from unnecessary intrusion as brooding male can easily spooked. Block/cover yr tank. First 5 days are crucial, remove female to avoid feeding/waste that pollute the water. The male normally release fry from 17 to 21 days. Good luck with your brooding.

The male swallowed all the eggs earlier today.. Saw the bulge go from his mouth to stomach. I think the female got excited and might have stirred up waste all over when i tried to feed her. That was when i last saw the bulge in male's mouth.
Anyway thanks for the info guys. Will try my luck again next time
Meanwhile try to condition yr pair with good foods and see to it that your tank is properly cycled.
Mac are very sensitive to water param and chemical etc..they spawn easily/ at short interval, but very hard for the male to hold to term. Breeding Mac is a interesting learning process.
