Hi folks, I've gotten a new plain tank to replace my current all-in-one tank.

For the cycling, i plan to move some of my existing media over from the current tank which is around for around two years. Should be stable as there's no deaths for more than six months, probably longer. The existing media should bring over some benefial bacteria from the existing tank, but i'm not sure should i use new treated water or use existing water while doing water change.

I figured the existing water while doesn't have much bacteria to help with cycling, it should contain the food source for the bacteria instead of using new treated water and then introducing fish food to rot(fishless cycling)?

I was even thinking eventually i will just pour the water and fish over from existing tank and with all the media from the existing tank, it should be safe right?

The current tank is a small 10L and moving to the new 15L tank.

Any advice or comments are very much appreciated. Thanks.
