was wondering whether a cooling fan will lower the water temperature to one which is uncomfortable for discus.
from what i know, discus need warm temperatures.

does anyone know the lowest temp. discus can take, and whether a fan will go well with discus? thanks!

With a fan, the lowest temp we can get is about 25C in our climate. Most of the time the temperature will be higher than this. There shouldn't be any problem.

My discus in the air-con office are kept at a constant 25C. They are still active.

i see..because the owner of a LFS advised me that discus will be stressed when the temperature gets too low.

so it's confirmed that discus will be alright with a cooling fan?

No problem with 25 degrees. I think if you check at dph.nl you'll see that in the wild, discus do experience that temperature too. Mine layed their eggs at 27 degrees. So... 25.. tolerable. I think Amano's tanks, the discus thriving in 25.
