Hi, i need help identifying the circled plants. I tried searching online but came up empty.
I kind of dislike the roots which is like growing around.

A close-up photo would help... but from the leaf shapes that i can vaguely see, they look like maybe one of the ludwigia species (perhaps still emersed form?). Those type of stem plants do tend to grow aerial roots to help absorb nutrients in the water column, so you'll see it occurring quite often.

Yeah, it does resemble a ludwigia species... they are marginal plants that grow both submersed and emersed in ponds and rivers. You probably got the emersed version so it'll take some time to adapt back to submersed growth, hence the slow growth rate at this moment.

I kept it in my container water garden a while back:

If allowed to grow above the water surface, it'll sprout small white flowers.
