why I don't do garden hybrids and aquarium strains: natural species is a history of Nature, while hybrids are just the whims of Man.

Small arowanas become big arowanas very quickly. It takes only 6 months for a 6 inch arowana to get to 12 inches (give or take a few inches). Another year and it will near or exceed 18 inches.
If you want to put them in a planted tank, start with a big one.
Yes, it will try to eat all the other fishes.
Do a search, as suggested by Budak. There are old threads which elaborate on the above and other stuff.
Vincent - AQ is for everyone, but not for 'u' and 'mi'.
Why use punctuation? See what a difference it makes:A woman, without her man, is nothing.
A woman: without her, man is nothing.
woooo! instant appearance by the aro owner

generally speaking the smaller fish will become a snack but some do survive some times.... I find that the rummy nose I have in my planted aro tank good for clearing up the bits of super worm when my aro eats and chews (He's a messy eater). Guppy too slow a swimmer and will get eaten
YOU may like living in a pig's sty.... but I dont like swimming in a toilet bowl....CHANGE MY WATER !!
