Any bro care to share what's the damage for these unzan stones?
Well I'm pretty regular at fishy business, so prices of the stones are very negotiable
Superstar Aquarium at Tampines just brought in some new stock as well.
I just saw you at fishy business haha.
Hi zhaoronglim,
Coincidentally, I have bought and setup a 60p with some Unzan Stones from Fishy Business about 3+ weeks ago.
I had hard time looking for appropriate stones for my hardscape until I saw Unzan Stones.
Unzan Stones are just too amazing, they are beautiful natural looking. Hope to see more of them.
Hope you have a great time scaping and pls do update here on the progress.
Cheers!
That's nice.. heard of Unzan Stones too... what's the damage? How many pcs? Can post a pic of your setup here? 😄
Thanks people! I still have no time to plant the tank yet due to reservist coming. I wouldn't want to miss my 50% daily water change the first week! I was thinking Eleocharis acicularis 'mini' (super dwarf hairgrass) as foreground on the front. Hydrocotyle tripartita as mid foreground in between the stones and Eleocharis Parvula (dwarf hairgrass) as back foreground with a few strands of Eleocharis SP behind the biggest stone. Monte carlo will be planted in the pocket. What do you guys think?
I have hydrocotyle tripartita as mid foreground as well. They are out growing both hairgrass and HC way too fast. I think it's better suited in the pockets
Nice layout and setup. HC and dwarf hair grass would do great!
Haha wanted to try UG carpet but I am scared.
Don't scared. Try liao post here the progress
I finally have the time to start my scape. Have decided to use HC on the pockets and foreground with hairgrass on the background. Any suggestions from bros out there? Actually wanted to rub some mosses on the unzan as well but decided not to for easier maintenance.
UG carpet
Monte Carlo,, nice carpeting plant and easier than HC.
since your tank is 2ft, for foreground you might want to try hc or glosso. in between the rocks, dwarf hair grass. and for the pockets, its always tripartita to me. for background, i would just let the foreground plants slowly creep to the back. .
After looking at the hardscape again, I'm really uncomfortable with that stone of different color. After bleaching, the whole stone turned even paler. Therefore I decided to replace that stone. Will post the picture updates again.
have you tried spraying some water on the rocks? sometimes after spraying some water, they become darker and the differences ain't that much of a difference, as long as they are the same type of rock. unzan are $$$, save money hahah...
Hi Guys! I have changed the unzan stone to match the colors however I apologize that I would not be posting any update pictures for this tank for a while as someone suggested that I take part in next year's IAPLC. Wish me luck!
