Can't tell the betta in the first pic. The second pic is not a betta, it is called paroshromenus, could be a P. opalios. I may be wrong

Hi Andrew, the first pic belong to the Coccina sp. Could be B Coccina from jambi(if you get yours around this few months at Y618 or C32

Re: What wild betta is it?

Yes, the Betta in the first photo you bought are coccina from Jambi. Note that this species is rather aggressive to its congeners compared to other similar looking betta (the red dwarfs). I bred them once and those were fully matured specimens at 5-6 cm. That was a couple years ago. Recently, I bought three of them but all of them turn out to be males, so I'm looking for a female to pair with one of them.

The fish in the 2nd photo are Parosphromenus sp. but I'm not too sure exactly what species they are. The thing I know is that they are relatively fragile and do best in R/O/distilled water with very low PH because of their susceptibility to disease. To breed them, you will need a lower room temperature.

It's hard to distinguish the betta with the photo you have shown. Try to take a clearer photo of them showing their flanks/body instead.
