Maintaining plant condition after uprooting.

Hi,
I have removed my Marsilea crenata and I would like to 'preserve' them for later use.

How do I keep them in good healthy condition before the next replanting?
These are already in emmersed form.

The same for my Echinodorus. How do I keep them in good condition if I have not decided where to replant them yet?
I have some of those little 'basket' that came with the plants.
Can I use the filter media to wrap around the roots and leave them in the tank?

For the echino, if they are emersed form, it will be best to use planting wool, if not cotton wool and keep the pot submersed in water.

just to add to david's reply, any submersed plant should be kept wet at all times.. you can use those plastic containers for your Marsilea, add water into it and place near a light source. I have kept plants in my vegetable compartment for more than a week before planting

Oh my.. the plants are all Submersed form.

I can't find any planting wool, so a cotton wool would do as good?

I can't put the plants in my vegie compartment since most vegies get frozen in 3 days. Its those commercial type fridge.

how long you say you are going to keep them?

You can leave them floating in the main tank. This way, they still get all the light and nutrients. However, bigger plants will block the lights to the other plants in the tank.

Otherwise, you can still keep them in good condition for a few days in a basin of water in the balcony where there's light.

Probably a week.
I can't decide which tank to plant them yet due to my lighting limitation.

I saw you 'stucked' those E.'Oriental's on your tank glasswall and I thought its cool to let my plantlets grow that way too.
Did you add anything to the planting wool for the roots?
My plantlets are not growing well cos they are all overshadowed by the other plants.
