It is Hygrophila Difformis or also known as Water Wisteria.
I'm not sure if this is Hygro Difformis. I purchased some Difformis from LFS at $1 per pot for 1 bunch. They have strong stems and can get quite big. Their leaves pattern are different from this plant.
But this plant here is different from the Difformis that I kept before. The leaves are more narrow. And I purchased this plant at $3 for 1 stalk. Pity it wasn't labelled.
Wondering what plant is this..
Looks like the fully submersed form of water wisteria to me too... water wisteria has different leaf and stem forms when emersed (or during transition between submersed and emersed), and since most plants sold at LFS are grown emersed, you probably seen those other forms more often.
Hmm I got this emersed, but this plant has been submerged for the past 2 months already and it's shape remains the same.
The normal Difformis that I was referring to were all submerged already in LFS, and their leaves are really big.
Maybe a variant of H.Difformis (hence the price)?
Hmm confused ..
Its ceratopteris thalictroides, or water sprite. As easy to grow as H. Difformis
Yeah, it could already be in submersed form but sold temporarily emersed in cartons or sealed packets, can be either way.
I guess you can check the plant photos online to help get a closer ID of it... like Xiaozhuang mentioned, it might also be water sprite instead.
It is hydrophila odora.
AKA Hygrophila sp. 'Guinea' and Hygrophila. sp. 'Afrika'
Google it to confirm.
Spot on! Thank you!
Wasn't convinced it was water sprite or wisteria.
Hey atolylica can I know where you bought the plant?
I got it from C328. It was just 1 stalk in a bag, unlabeled. I saw its attractive pattern and grabbed it.
