I thought I saw a tank of these at AquaticAvenue yesterday. Can give them a call to confirm.
Hello my dear AQ bros/sis,
I have 2 quick questions for today.
1. Where to get Boraras Brigittae? I visited Nanyang Seaview yesterday and they said it was out of stock. I obtained a few Mosquito and Spotted Rasboras...they seem to colour up slightly (orangey/pink), but I still want the red of the Boraras Brigattae :P
2. Do Boraras Brigittae look colourless while in LFS? I was hoping to identify them easier and not confuse them with other Boraras.

Thanks bro. I will check them out.

It depends on the tank conditions that they are kept in at the LFS... if in stressed state, their colors will tend to be washed out, but if they are settled in a tank their colors should be more solid and obvious.
Amongst groups of Boraras Brigittae, there will also be specific ones which have much more red than others, so always try to selectively pick those that have the most intense red color in LFS tanks to get the best ones from the start.
Thanks UA! Helpful as always

I purchased some boraras 2 weeks back from Seaview too, hoping they were brigittae. But on closer examination and research at home, realised they should be 'Boraras urophthalmoides'

Fortunately, things turned out great. They're not shy, instead these lively little fellas are very active, and love exploring the tank. Also, they don't nip at my shrimplets (huge relief for shrimp keepers), co-existing happily in my 2ft. Their small size also helps to keep the sense of scale in the tank too. Loving them more each day
I am hoping they don't actively hunt and snack on the newborn or smaller shrimplets, as I intend to stock some fire reds soon and in time CRS.
After looking at my tank I guess I bought Boraras Merah and Boraras Maculatus.

Used to have boraras brigittae in my shrimp tank and yes, they do hunt for shrimplets and due to their small size, they can get in-between plants to hunt the shrimplets
Hi Y3H,
I think I saw some Brigittae at Aquatic Connection in Sims Place.
