    Hi all!

I bought this LUMENAQUA MAX 300 light set quite a while back (Sort of an impulse purchase on my part ) but have never come round to use it.

I'm looking to start up a new planted set up soon and would like to make use of the light set but am not exactly sure what set up it is suitable for.

Ideally I would have the light used for a low light 2ft set up.

I have never used LED lights before so I'm sure what size aquarium it should ideally be used for. I understand that the Watt per gallon rule doesn't really apply for LEDs though.

Additionally, from what I have read, I believe the light intensity of the LEDs spread over a much smaller area so this might limit the tanks length.

If I'm not mistaken the light set uses 12 white LEDs that are 3W each (correct me if I'm wrong).

Would the light set provide enough lighting and would it spread over a large enough area for a heavily planted 2ft set up? Or would a 1.5ft cube be more suitable for it?

    Thanks! Please advise!

i will post the pictures of it soon!
    Cheers,
    JJ

There are 12 LEDs in total. There aren't any other specs that come with the light but from what I've read I believe they are 3W phosphor coated white LEDs.

The light spectrum and some info I found online are in the pictures below

    Thanks!

Re: LUMENAQUA MAX 300 for Planted Tank

    Thanks zero fighter.

So it should be fine for a standard 60 x 30 x 36 cm right?

    What about for a 60 x 45 x 45 cm tank?

im currently planning for my new set up and I'm really afraid the light set will be underpowered. I don't want to end up spending a lot more to replace the light set if it ends up being underpowered

Anyone has experience with this light set or similar before?

    Thanks
    Cheers,
    JJ

3 w per LED and 12 LEDs meaning 36W in total. It looks like it should be sufficient for most plants. I will not be too sure about red plants though. It should be like the EVO LED sets which is a good start for 2ft. Might not be best for high demand plants.
