growing moss with minimum water

I tried to grow moss by putting it in plastic bag, hanging on the window and spraying it with water every other for few weeks now.

Cannot see any new growth, but some algae

any idea how to to speed up its growth?

can u post a picture of what u have done?, what kind of moss are you trying to grow?
if you want moss to grow using sunlight what i have tried myself is to tie it down to a mesh and place it submerged in a tau huey container that has some indirect sunlight, the amount of sunlight will affect if algae is going to bloom so KIV daily and see if there is too much or too little sunlight

I think mine is taiwan moss. Do you cover the tau huay tub ? I tried using tau huay tub and when I open the cover it's smelly

no i did not cover it, maybe what you experience was by covering the tub and exposing it to too much sunlight the air trapped along with the heat by the sunlight caused your moss to rot. therefore it is smelly. taiwan moss is very easy to grow outdoors and grows very fast you just have to keep in mind that moss don't do well in "hot" water

i grew this in a outdoor 2 ft tank at the back of my house. it only took me 5 weeks from a freshly tied DW to this stage, FYI every other day i was fighting algae issues so its very tiring

Markus how do you get raid of the algae btw?

it was hair algae and it was manually removed.

so far no visible growth of my moss, only see patches of green algae.
