Some people have used it before but the effects may vary... its designed for soil based terrestrial plants, not for aquariums, so there may be chemical concentrations that might be harmful to certain fishes or invertebrates (especially shrimps), so its a risk factor to consider.

In an aquarium with only plants and no livestock, there shouldn't be as much issues, just that without any recommended dosing info for aquarium use, you'll have to adjust the dosage via trial and error to see what works (if algae starts taking over, then have to scale back).
