I read online stating that it is strongly recommended not to mix crays as it might lead to diseases. Can i mix Procambarus Clarkii with Cherax quadricarinatus? or same tank with divider. TYVM

Would love to find out if anyone tried this arrangement and what are the outcomes?

Last I checked someone on the forum mentioned that P. Clarkii might carry diseases that are harmful for Cherax quadricarinatus.

Sorry for reviving such an old thread.

I mixed them before in the same tank.. end up I have to remove the Cherax quadricarinatus because it was too aggressive towards the other Procambarus Clarkii.

As for for the divider question: if you got them both when they were young and disease-free, that shouldn't be an issue?

Thanks for sharing your experiences! I will try to house 1 Cherax quadricarinatus and Procambarus Clarkii together first to see how it goes. Before I put all of them together in the pond.
