    This is my first try keeping apisto. Keeping a pair of this Apisto Veijita Gold in a 1ft cube tank, with a few L183 bristlenose. Hope they are ok together!

    Picture of the male, the female and the pair. Will they just pair up? How do we know if they pair up?

    Thanks for any advices!

    Is it normal for the female to flare when placed a mirror beside the tank? My female is flaring away.could it be a male?

    To my understanding both sexes of apisto will usually flare cause there are territorial in nature.

    Sometimes they take turn to flare at each other. Depends on whether they are ready to breed. Nice colour by the way

    Please pardon me from saying this.... this is just an albino version of A.macmasteri
    Beside the coloration on the face... The body To me is just pale white in color.

    And Kck, do you have a side view of the smaller pieces?

    Thanks for pointing out to me. Got it from GC that sold them as a pair of Apisto Veijita Gold As I am new to new to Apisto so could not tell the difference.

    It should be a macmasteri.

    The female is chasing the male and wracking him till he is hiding. Can she be a male instead?

    Is she guarding any place? If yes, they might have spawn. Apistogramma female usually like that after spawn. Unless your tank is big enough else. Royal rumble.

    She is not guarding any particular spot! But she is definitely whacking the poor male which leads me to think maybe she is a he????

    Hi Kck;

    I got no experience at Albino or In breed species.
    However, please look at the following points:
    Albino B-1.jpg
    A: Is the fin black? Usually female apistogramma will be black, even in neutral mood.
    B and C: These 2 points, most Female apistogramma will look different. Usually rounded.

    Based on your pictures, and comparing the above 3 points, you might have a sneaker.
    But like i says..... I got no experience in Albino or In breed species.

    I think most likely sneaker. I catch it out into another tank for a week. When I re-introduce into the tank they are flaring like nothing.

    Hey Kck;

    Since you have separated them into individual tanks, is there anymore development on the smaller pieces during this separation?
    How about having a latest side profile of the smaller pieces?
    (I thought i saw some red development on the tail..)
    Anyway, i think there is more of them at green chapter right?

    The last two pictures were the latest. First one is the "female" and the second picture is the pair when I re introduce the female back to the tank. Front male back female.

    No colour up during the separation of 1 week.

    should I go buy 1 female tomorrow?
