    It doesn't work in the aquarium. Reefers keep their tank water at pristine level, these oyster will die without the required nutrient in the water bodies.

    I did have an oyster in my reef tank before. It did pretty well for a while. Then I realized what that meant.

    Hi BFG, so are you saying that "clean water in most reef tank will kill the oysters due to lack of nutrients"? In that a case, will it possibly work if we purposely slack and lower our filter system power?

    Hi muar_chee, i don't know what to make out of that photo. it looks like a monster. can you explain the situation to me after you put it inside your tank for a prolonged period?

    NO2 and NO3 lowered until it started melting.

    I guess so.

    I made a wrong purchase then. I did not think this through as I was still young, foolish with raging hormones then.

    Originally, I intended my tank to be a SPS tank, then I waned into a mixed-reef tank: Mostly SPS with some LPS. Then I just finally succumbed and buy anything pretty that caught my eye. Oysters, clams, SPS, LPS, Tangs, Anthias, just to mention a few. Then finally the tank exploded one day.
