It doesn't work in the aquarium. Reefers keep their tank water at pristine level, these oyster will die without the required nutrient in the water bodies.

Anybody tried putting an oyster in your marine tank?

If you've learnt, teach, if you have, give.
Don't walk behind me as I might not lead, don't walk in front of me as I might not follow. Walk beside me, as my friend.
Mohamad Rohaizal is my name. If it's too hard, use BFG. I don't mind.
I did have an oyster in my reef tank before. It did pretty well for a while. Then I realized what that meant.
Hi BFG, so are you saying that "clean water in most reef tank will kill the oysters due to lack of nutrients"? In that a case, will it possibly work if we purposely slack and lower our filter system power?
Hi muar_chee, i don't know what to make out of that photo. it looks like a monster. can you explain the situation to me after you put it inside your tank for a prolonged period?
as in, insufficient food then it started dying?
I guess so.
I made a wrong purchase then. I did not think this through as I was still young, foolish with raging hormones then.
Originally, I intended my tank to be a SPS tank, then I waned into a mixed-reef tank: Mostly SPS with some LPS. Then I just finally succumbed and buy anything pretty that caught my eye. Oysters, clams, SPS, LPS, Tangs, Anthias, just to mention a few. Then finally the tank exploded one day.
