Looks like Hydrocotyle leucocephala; think it does come from South america

Hey guys, I got this plant for a dollar in a nearby LFS.
It was the last remaining pot and suffering from nutrient deficiency.
Seeing that pennyworts are my favorite plant, I had to buy it.
However, I'm not sure what type of pennywort is this? Can this be the brazilian pennywort?
There are other types of pennywort (asiatic, americana) that looks like this as well.
By the way, it has a tobacco and pepper smell as well. I wouldn't be surprised if this plant is used as ingredient for men's cologne/musk lol!

I second that.
Yours does seem to have a thicker stem and seem to form 'Y' branches. It seems different from most of the images that I managed to googled. I found a few other references that also positively ID'ed similar as Hydrocotyle Leucocephala.
