That's a C.E.A, Chinese Algea Eater.
Good & effective when young & small.
Hi folks,
I went down to K&K lfs at Tampines to buy Oto but end up buying this fish. What's the name of this fish?
It appears to have the same algae eating propensity. And so far haven't show any sign of interest in fish food other than cleaning my tank of algae []
Thanks!

If you've learnt, teach, if you have, give.
Don't walk behind me as I might not lead, don't walk in front of me as I might not follow. Walk beside me, as my friend.
Mohamad Rohaizal is my name. If it's too hard, use BFG. I don't mind.
that's because geocities aren't meant for linking pictures to
if you want, rename the file as [filename].TXT, then use the img tag to show the pic
it's a CAE alrite
Thanks!
Errr....
Chinese Algae Eater (CAE) would be Gyrinocheilus aymonieri. But a search thru' a few site
Gyrinocheilus aymonieri from these sites
http://www.exotictropicals.com/encyc...inesealgae.htm
http://www.biology.ualberta.ca/jacks...ent_Images.php
is different
http://www.exotictropicals.com/encyc...inesealgae.htm
which is called Lemon Algae Eater.
??? so is mine a CAE or LAE
Oops... the last link should be
http://freshaquarium.about.com/libra...s/blfw0019.htm
the LAE is the so-called amelanistic version of the CAE
think of the LAE as the CAE without the pigmentation
your is the lemon algae eater.. chinese algae eater has a grey based with some kinda pattern on the upper body
Thank you []
CAE is the same shape and design except that it is greyish in color and have some patterns on its body..
