    Hi guys,

    Found this in nearby LFS for a dollar per pot so I grabbed the last one.
    However, I'm not sure what this plant is exactly. Looking at images in google it seems like its Ammannia Gracilis or the african green hygro.
    The new leaves are olive green but the rest including the stems are pale purple red. The stem is sturdy though.

    Am I correct with my guess of what this plant is or is this some species of rotala? (colorata?)

    Its Ammannia praetermissa. Its hard to keep red, though it can be very red, it stays about that size. (previously labeled as Neasea sp red) A. Gracilis grows more orange, and huge; with the stem growing up to around the width of your little finger.

    In good conditions;

    Thanks for the ID
    I checked this plant for information and it seems like it's one of the most challenging plants to keep. I did put a few stems in my low-tech tank but I guess I have to move it all to the high-tech one.

    Oh yes, good eyes. Photographer oversaturated the photo, but the relative color to macrandra is accurate
