    Hi,

Can anyone tell me how does glossostigma grows? grows upwards or grows sideways and cover the rest of the spaces? mine seems to grow taller. my riccia is growing, can't see much growth in hairgrass. will my hairgrass grow and spread to the rest of the spaces or will it grow upwards too? please advise

glosso will grow sideways when u got enuff light for them.. thought some of the guys here have probs even with strong lights.. they need to be plunged deep into the gravel.. as for yr hairgrass, they r considered as slow growers and will take a while to cover yr foreground

    Hi Ray

Glossos wld naturally grow vertically...but u can 'discipline' it to grow as a lawn by plunging individual stems into the gravel & just exposing the top leave. It's quite a hassle if u ask me, but otherwise the result is nice (but high maintenance). Hairgrass will grow longer (height) as well as spread itself across the ground via runners. FYI hairgrass needs a lot of light & CO2. U may also wanna try plunging in fert sticks, plus lower temp is helpful as well.

My glosso is doing very well right now, it seems to grow sideways nomatter how i have plugged it... although, my runners that have come out seem to be growing on top of the substrate... is this normal? i always though the runners grew uner.. but oh well, its spreading sideways, so im happy!
