Have set up a new terrarium over the weekend and here's the video of it....

It is not completed yet as plants are still to be added, now looking out for suitable ones.... what I don't like is the water fall effect,.... the water is trickling down, I want a water curtain type of effect, using a stronger pump does not help and it only jets the water forward....

Can experts advise how to create water curtain falling over the edge of the cliff? like in the picture.... Thanks....

How is your water outlet angled? Can we have a look?

Perhaps use a spray bar? Or use a duck billed outlet like that:

Thanks,...... spray bar will not work well as water comes in at one end and the spray will be slanted, I have actually modified my spray nozzle ... with a plastic pipe, slit across but the effect is not good as water is flowing slanting.... the duck bill outlet looks interesting, water inlet is from middle and thus water will flow straight down... you know where I could buy that??

I see what you mean; you want an even distribution of water across the entire outlet so that the spray is uniform.

    This may even be better:

Just fiddle with it till they are close together and you will get a wider waterfall

You can find it at one of the fish shops at serangoon north avenue 2, near Petmart (: there are about 4-5 shops there, so just look around (:

You need to have a reservoir on top and smooth even edge to create the curtain. The picture shown is a stagnant glass/acrylic molded there, that you need skills to do it.

exactly what I was thinking,.... about the reservoir... just like those hang on filter.... water is pump into the canister and overflow as a curtain over the lip.... let me go experiment a little and see the results....

Your waterfall egde is slant, you cant get a uniform waterfall like in the picture. It have to be level and able to collect significant amount of water for it to have that waterfall effect.
If you know your way around acrylic sheet it is easy to make a simple guide for the water to flow uniformly down to the tank and if you really want to make the acrylic waterfall similar to the picture
here is the link.. This is how model maker make it...

the water fall is more important on how your rock placement is, sort of how you need to guide the water down ,need to play around, every adjustment have different effects
