The fishes might die out of cold shock in the cargo compartment and possible rough handling.
You can forget about carry on as 100ml bottle rule in 1 quart zip lock bag still applies.
Hi all, need some advise. How do I bring back the fishes from Hong Kong back to singapore? I understand that there is this 30 fishes/3litre rules to follow.
There are something I pretty much worry, if the fishes are being check-in as normal luggage, will they be alright when they pass through the x-Ray and all those (rough handling) ? Please advise

The 1L and 30 fish limit is right. Just pack the fish properly and store in an insulated tumbler like those you bring on picnics. Those will insulate and prevent too much temperature swing as well as provide a hard shell, plus, they are water tight in case the bag leaks. Just check it in between your clothes. Declare at SG customs.

Thank you vannel
You can also pack in a breathable bag such as kordon bags or cheaper version one made in china.
The official AVA numbers are max 30 fish in no more than 3 kilo of water. Depends on the type of fish, some would need oxygen in plastic bag. For peace of mind Ask LFS to pack for you and they may even supply you with proper styrofoam box.

Thank you all very much...!
Curious what "special" fish you getting in Hong Kong which is not available here?
Currently don't have any fishes in mind, but going there to look see look see.. Hehehe
Hahahaha...! Only will buy if it is a good deal
Good luck with your shopping. Was there few years ago and they have two rows of fish shops....think at "tong chai" street. But didn't find the AAA grade goldfish I was looking for. But fun roaming around.
Okay, thank you...
If you are not fussy, PET WALK at Serangoon is best. Many nice fishes to see and buy. Also got imported fishes.
LIFE IS UNBEARABLE WITHOUT A FISH TANK!!!
At Hong Kong now... So many nice fishes here. Been to pet walk at serangoon. Seriously, it's more for birds lovers. Lol
There are always special clearances and promo in HK as they don't have space and want fast sales turnover. Recently many LFS there were clearing Juwel heaters and European made filters ...less than half price!
