Spirulina helps in Plant Growth?

Hi Everyone,

I have a planted tank at home and researched that Spirulina Powder helps improve Plants growth despite using lesser NPK.

Have anyone tried this method out?

are you talking about aquatic plant or terrestrial plant? Any Spirulina type in my tank will be eaten by my fish and shrimp

I've only ever heard of people using spirulina power to boost terrestrial plant growth in gardens... haven't heard of anyone using it as nutrients for submersed plants in a tank before. I'd guess you can try it out.

I also feed my fishes and shrimps food with spirulina ingredients in it too, not sure if that has any effect on plant growth.

All right. I will try it out. Just to side track, what kind of shrimps eat Spirulina Powder ? CRS?

I guess all shrimps would eat spirulina powder, its an algae anyways (a common ingredient in good quality algae wafers)... its also popular amongst breeders to feed fish fry too, helps them grow better.
