    hi folks
    i have a bare tank
    -80x40x40cm
    -2 x 36 watts osram
    -quartz gravel
    -one pack of JBL aquabasis
    -some denerlee,maybe 1/10 kg
    -hanging filter and inner filter

i want to make aquascape with 2 view point at the longest side(3 views better),i think about amano style aqua,(one long mangrove wood, hair grass, moss, anubias,n fern)

but the problem is, i dont have enough money to buy CO2 system,so
    1. is it ok to grow hair grass without CO2?how to grow it?is the lighting ok?(10 cm on top of the water surface)
    2. is JBL fert is good?
    3. i plan to fill it with exotic shrimp only,

my friend told that hair grass is difficult to grow without CO2.is it right?
if so how about glosso, what the other grass like plan that can live without CO2 (e.tennelus no)

    regards

why I don't do garden hybrids and aquarium strains: natural species is a history of Nature, while hybrids are just the whims of Man.

actually, my dwarf hairgrass is growing fine without any CO2 ... however they depend on lights quite a bit ... my 1ft cube tank used to have a 9W light and the HG grew really long to almost 1ft ... changed the tube to 13W and now it has stayed there for months at 3-4inches
