In one of the males of my black bar endlers i harvested last year, I'd a single male that looked very different from the rest. It has a huge black patch on his body rather than a black bar and displayed zebrinus/tigrinus markings in its peduncle region. Both normal and mutant has the emerald green caudal patch. Unlike its brothers, the mutant does not have any orange spots

Interesting. I guess it is similar to heterochromia and albinism.

Maybe if you provoke the fish, it might extend it retracble claws.

I decide to mate this mutant male with 2 of its sister and the outcome looks like this. Apparently, the mutant dad's traits are carried over to the next generation including the zebrinus/tigrinus markings and the huge black patch. I will continue the line to F2 to confirm the line stability.

This is very interesting that this came out of a black bar line. I've seen similar ones and they are called blue based.
I'll show a blue based one but not with such a huge black patch as yours. It's one of the entries of an acquainted french judge at the international endler championship in Berlin.

    Very interesting hybrid mutation.
Commonly by chance there will some odds ones poping out!
I ever had albino endler fry but survive rate very low.
