yes i am using ADA soil that should buffer around 6.5.. thanks for replying. probably i will add co2 in the not so distant future, bringing the pH even lower.
Hello!
There is no need to add peat because I am having a planted tank with controlled CO2 supplied. The water is generally acidic in planted tank due to CO2. '
Having them in IWAGUMI set up is fine. I am assuming that you are putting soil into the tank. Soil means Aquasoil or other addictive soil that will influence the pH level
Hi,
i see that you are well experienced in keeping green neon tetras, looking at your sales thread. kudos for placing emphasis on their safe future as well.
i'd like to ask if you've had to add peat to your aquarium before because of these guys? i just read on seriouslyfish that they are blackwater species. i was initially planning on keeping them in a iwagumi setup but now seems like i cant? what do you think?
hope to hear from you soon

The green neon tetra will do perfect with ADA aquasoil. : )

No I don't. You can Get them from Sea View?

I thought I've seen them there before but recent trips there shows none. apparently out of stock. sunpets says they can order in though.. GC sells them for double the price (as usual). Since green neons are especially sensitive, should I wait for a seller? or try from LFS?

Green neons are no farm breed (not worth the effort and time). They are susceptible to "neon tetra disease". You may try to get it from C328 via Qianhu. You must quarantine them no matter what. It's no joke to have sick fishes in planted tank because you can't treat fishes without destroying plants
