Look like hair algae..
Hello!
Could I get your opinion on what type of algae this is. Is this hair algae or staghorn algae or fuzz algae?
I have 2 amano Shrimps but they don't seem to eat it.

Look like hair algae..
Yeah, looks like the filamentous version of diatoms, could also be considered as hair algae too.
Your amano shrimps will eat it... but most likely the algae is probably growing much faster than those 2 shrimps can eat, so they don't seem to have much effect. You can manage the algae by reducing/adjusting the lights, increasing water changes to flush out the excess nutrients, do manual removal and add more shrimps.
Hair algae! Ok. Thanks for your help guys. Probably will add a few more ammno shrimp.
My lighting has been reduced to 5 hrs and I increased the co2. Hope it will work. Hair algae is so unslightly

hi, im noob abt plant, so these hair algae need to manually remove? or need algae crew?
You can manually remove the algae regularly, but it can be quite tedious and you'll never be able to get all the algae out (without also pulling out the plants too)... shrimps are able to reach all the small areas and will graze on the algae 24/7 as part of their diet, so they can really help alot in the algae management process.
definitely hair algae. manual removal + ISTA algae remover works for me.
