Can someone advise me on whether a good reflector would help to increase the strength and the wattage. Eg if I have a PL 11watts and I use a reflector, does it mean that now I have perhaps up to 22 watts? Not a tech person so have no idea. Thanks

Reflector will not increase wattage but will increase illumination. Effective use of reflectors is the technology behind the manufacturing of examination lamps for hospital.

Where can we get a good reflector? I heard JBJ lights have very good reflectors in them. But where can we find DIY ones as good as those?

Local hardware shops will have them. Usually comes in 4ft lengths that fit single FL or double FL tubes.

The new 4 ft display tank in Aquatic Concepts in Thomson Plaza uses 4X38 W Dennerle FL tubes with Dennerle reflector and they are keeping hairglass inside.

Ivan there said the Dennerle reflector is very good. Of course it is not cheap (can't remember how much).

The same tank is using full Dennerle CO2 set with the new ph controller mounted inside the tank with a glass door .... for us to admire.
