I have read some articles that blackout can kill all the algaes... but currently i have high light demanding plants in my tank, riccia. So if i will to do a blackout to my tank, wat is the maximum possible number of days that i can do, without wiping out all of them. BTW my hair algae is a bit too much....

    Re: blackout

Prolonged blackouts will kill all algaes AND plants. Black-outs of up to 3-4 days are suggested for bluegreenalgae but for other types, nutrient management, adequate CO2 and good housekeeping are what works. Read around this sub-forum for answers.
