Does malayan shrimp eats black brush algae?

As above, wanna know if malayan shrimps eat bba. dont wish to use chemicals in my shrimp tank

Malayan shrimps don't eat BBA... but they may eat it after its weakened by algae treatment or Excel/H2O2 spot dosing (just like most other shrimps).

Mine did and died thereafter. All with purple bodies. Idol, did you experience that before?

I haven't encountered that before... what algae treatment or spot treatment did you do that led to the shrimp deaths?

I have not seen malayan eat bba too. Maybe muar chee mistaken the behaviour of Malayan shrimps like other shrimp do like to foilage very small pieces of food/ micro organism trap in bba.
