Hi, Is Algaexit effective against BBA and shrimp safe? The instructions seems to say so but wonder if anyone tried with shrimps (fire red/CRS)? Thanks.

AlgExit is a safe and effective product for combating almost all types of algae in a freshwater aquarium. Algae, such as beard algae, brush algae and filamentous algae, are effectively wiped out. AlgExit is easy and economical to use and harmless to fish, shrimps, molluscs and plants. The algae growth is first brought to a standstill and then it disappears. Any algae spores that are still present in the water are removed.

    Re: Easy Life Algaexit

So far, i've used it in my tanks with both RCS and CRS shrimps, and haven't experienced any issues that could be traced to the treatment dosing. I just follow the dosage instructions on the bottle.

I also do the half-dose fortnightly "maintenance" regimen as recommended on the bottle for my tanks too (i bought the larger 500ml bottle so have to use it up before expiry), no problems encountered too.

Anyone know where to get this? I know most LFS will carry but it seems they are out of stock. Anyone spotted them near Punggol area? Seaview seems out of it.

Have you tried getting bumblebee snails? They are quite effective in clearing gsa for my tank.

Have you tried to increase the phosphate levels in your tank? I increased my seachem phosphorus dosage and it seemed to help. Still have some gsa but it seems less and more controlled.

Yup, it works well to help weaken and inhibit filamentous type algae over time... makes it noticeably easier and quicker for your shrimps to clear.
