I believe both corys and shrimps have been recommended as good "cleaner crew" for uneaten food etc at the bottom of tank. Shrimps have the added advantage of clearing dead fishes as well.

I have a 4ft moderately planted tank and although my 15+ Malayan shrimps + 5 cherrys seems to be doing an ok job. I'm thinking of either adding :

    1. about 20 pces more Malayan shrimps
    2. 5 Yamatos
    3. 2 or 3 cories

Which will be a better option if the objective is to remove uneaten food and decaying plant/fauna matter? And should I increase the numbers in the options

    BTW, my other fishes are : 2 x SAE, 3 x otos, 16 x cardinal/neons, 2 x platys, 4 x guppys.

    Appreciate all advice !

Shrimps will be a better option imho.

They do all the jobs you speicified, and remain inconspicious enough unlike cories. Cories also need a cleared space to forage, unlike shrimps that can go anywhere. They can go places where cories can't reach.

Thanks for the feedback. Personally I prefer shrimps myself as I enjoy seeing them move about the tank.
