Next to my finger for rough size estimate. Carapace approximately 2-3cm across.

Looks like a panther crab... where did you spot it? I'm also looking for these too.

Do you have more photos? Like showing the top view. It could be a ceylonthelphusa?

It does look similar to Ceylonthelphusa. I'll try to get some more photos. In the meantime, do they have any special requirements or can I continue with my half land half water setup? Thanks.

Looking to keep in planted tank... panther crabs are supposedly fully aquatic so no need land area, they can live submersed in aquariums.

Hi lucasjiang, Here's a top view.

    Here's the female

Is this a male or immature female? It's about the same size as the female.

I don't think that it is Pantherina, it is more gracile looking, also the claws on the males show greater dimorphism.
Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day, teach a man to fish and he will drink beer while getting sunburnt.

Yup, it was pointed out to me in another forum that this is not a Panther Crab. Instead it might be a Potamid, although the exact species or even genus is still unknown.

If it's not panther crab, is the species ceylonthelphusa also fully aquatic, or does it still require dry land areas?
