    Hi,

    This is my observation.....

Recently 2 of my female guppies gave birth... total count is abt 40+ fries now...

I tried to fish out all fries into a small tank..... just last nite, I saw a grown fry in my main tank (obviously I missed it while I fish out the rest). The thing is, this fry is much bigger in size and think the growth is faster as compared to those I kept in a separate small tank...

    Suspect:
    1. Main tank got fan and condition is better
    2. Main tank got lights...

    Am I right?

Not only that, bigger tank, better water conditions, more space to roam and more micro-organisms to eat

It's true that the environment limits the size of the fish. As such, you find larger specimens in the wild than tank raised ones. So jhsean's comments are probably quite spot on.

    Cheers,
I have dwarf cichlids in my tanks! Do you?
