Bro thanks for the compliments. The holder came with the aqualighter 2. You can choose either the metal stand or this acrylic stand.

Don't worry, when you get back you'll have a chance to engage in extensive snail crushing sessions... the fishes and shrimps will get fresh escargot delicacy for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

It's usually not an issue... snail shells are relatively soft (especially the smaller ones) and they don't scratch the glass when crushed. Just don't scrape the metal pincettes across the glass.

During my snail infestation tank days, i was smashing snails every day against the glass and then the fishes and shrimps will automatically scoot over and start snacking on them.

It does depend on the type of snails though, pond and ramshorn snail shells are soft, but malayan trumpet snail shells can be hard so need more strength to break.

If you are worried, just pick up the snails with the pincettes and crush them away from the glass, then feed them directly to the fishes and shrimps. When you see shrimps eagerly grabbing a crushed snail from the pincettes and fighting over the bits of meat and shell, you might start to make "snail crushing" a side hobby.

Yes it will. I once tried to scoop all the snail on the glass with a sponge, figuring it would be a quick way to remove the snail in 1 move, the glass has multiple scratches from the snail.

Yeah, crushing them against the glass is okay, but wiping them across with sponge will scratch it... similar to if gravel or sand got caught in the sponges when cleaning tank glass.

Yeah, most likely the bottom sections of the stems rotted or melted (or got bent/damaged during planting), then the shrimps and snails munch away at the rotting section and the stem eventually detach. Quite common.

Last time i recall the plants already deeply rooted. So it means everything should be doing ok right.

Plants that are rooted in well are good, but sometimes the stems themselves may have been slightly damaged from planting or bent during maintenance, so those affected parts gradually rot and break away. It happens occasionally, not a big issue. Quite often the detached stem sections are still healthy, so can just replant them.

    Re: My First Aquascaping

Guys need some help how to dose my aquarium.

    I bought the following things.

    2015-Fertilizer.jpg

My Aquarium is 60x30x36. The Florish iron instruction was 1 capful (5ml) or each 200L. For Flourish 1 capful(5ml) for each 250L.

And lastly the prime 1capful(5ml)f9r each 200L. I'm using a 20 Liter backet.

    Question:
    1. How many ml of iron can i put twice a week.
    2. How many ml of flourish i can put twice a week.
    3. How many ml for prime i can put on a 20 liter bucket.
    4. Is this enough to make my plant health. because most of the plant are tall but leaves are small but they all reaching the top of the aquarium.

I'm not so happy with the plant growth so i replanted it.
