Hi, It has been long since I kept shrimps. Recently, I started on sulawesi shrimps and I wondered if there is anyone else out there keeping these beautiful critters? Personally, I am keeping cardinals with golden rabbit snails. Do share with me if you are keeping them and their type. Hope to hear from you guys soon.

Hi Sgguppylover, I'm planning to start a cardinal tank soon. May I know a few things from you?

    - What substrate do you use to keep your pH up?
    - Where did you get your supply of cardinals?

Seems uncommon to find people keeping sulawesi shrimps here 🙊

    Re: Sulawesi shrimps

I saw Sulawesi shrimp in seaview. Hmm. Alchemiskc, i am using Up-aqua substrate, ph 5.5 to 6.0. Usually for shrimps, you can go C328(Heard the cheapest), follow by Y618 and seaview.
The rest LFS dont seem like having a lot of choice for shrimps. Please share if you know better place, thanks.

Hi, I am using inert substrate specifically sand. My cardinals are gotten from y618.

Have been keeping sulawesi shrimps for at least 3 years without any mineral salt :-) successfully bred cardinals and goldflakes up to 3 generations. its possible
Used coral sand together with the leftover river sand that i used to keep monster fishes. Sulawesi rocks, marimo moss balls and coral fan.. simple set up.
I keep sulawesi shrimps, tetras, birds, exotic pets, herptiles and monster fishes.

    Re: Sulawesi shrimps

Hi Bro Kennethc, can you share your tank set-up with us? I am interested to set up one. I saw Green Chapter (Macpherson Road) had a few assorted sulawesi shrimp. Those who are looking for sulawesi shrimp can go and buy there.

I'm watching this thread with great interest.

I wanted to set up a Sulawesi shrimp tank, but am wondering which substrate can maintain an alkali condition.

Coral sand. Works for me the whole time. Alternatively, you can use salty shrimp mineral 7.5 or 8.5 with inert substrate.

You can check my previous threads. Now its quite plain without hortwort. Always melt in my tank.
These days the weather is very hot so its very hard to breed the shrimps. Last time, my cardinals become berried after rainy days.
