You can still use the Co2 system with diffuser... some Co2 may be lost from surface agitation, but most of it should still be available in the water column for the plants to utilize. If really not enough, then just inject abit more Co2 to compensate.

Even low amounts of Co2 injection can help to lift the carbon limitation and boost plant growth.

A regular supply of CO2 is needed. Also, the water surface need to move abit. Algae will benefit if there is a serious lack of O2

Re: Depressed and on the verge of giving up

So I've gone to Seaview and came back with an arsenal of weapons to deal with my problem. I bought an NPK daily fertilizer to help my plants grow better. Also bought Easylife's Algexit to deal with my algae problem. Got a submersible filter with a rain bar to deal with my water circulation issue. And finally I bought 10 RCS and donated my threadfin rainbows so as to balance out the livestock in my tank.

I have also reinstated my CO2 injection, and got a 4dKH solution to correctly read my tank's CO2 levels. This hobby is costing an arm and a leg to sustain. Haha.

    Great!
Which NPK fertilizer did you get? What's your planned dosing regime?

I got the German brand called Dennerle Daily NPK fertilizer. 4 drops per 100 litres so I'll use 2 drops every two days. I'll also use Flourish once a week about 4 ml.

    Yo bro,
I am pretty new to this forum and just wish to pick up your thread and say - after quite some time of combating algae issues in my tanks, I have fought the good battle and won. My tanks have no more algaes like for months now (anyway I started my 2 planted tanks 1 year ago).

So bro here is from one hobbyist to another - don't give up! If others can do it, so can you. Once you did it... niiicccceeee!

you could try a diy co2 as a cheap alternative for your problem.
