I can only provide one word of advice.... Patience Bro.....!
Hi all,
I have just set up a new 4ft tank a month ago. The water is almost crystal clear, but however when I take a closer observation, I discovered that the water have very fine particles floating in it when the lights are on. When the lights are off, it's not visible.
I wondered why? Could it be the new bio rings I used for the filter? Maybe I did not wash theh bio rings throughly enough? Or maybe it's tiny carbon dioxide bubbles that are not dissolved yet. I am using external reactor from NA.
Anyone have similar experience? Can advise how to remove them? Changing partial water till they are removed? Am cueless.
Thanks!

add more filter wool to polish the water

only way to polish water is a diatom filter...
anyway, eventually enough changes of water and it will go away. so don't need to fret about it

Right. And over time the wool will get more clogged up and trap even finer particles. The water by then will be crystal clear.

Juggler's tanks
what filter are you using? And what media, arrangement do you have inside?
I keep my water crystal clear by using 2 filters. One (cheap atman) with ceramic rings and 1 coarse filter pad, washed once per 6-12 mths. The other (eheim) is a mechanical, wash as often as u want.
So far, I havent wash the filters for at least 6mths.
Hi all,
Thanks for all the valueable advice. M just too eager to get the water crystal clear, perhaps for the CNY. Subspect I just have to be more patient.
I am using this cheap Atman. But seem okie till now. 3 layers. Bottom course pad with bio rings. Middle filled totally with bio rings. Top fine wool with bio rings.

Cheap may not be good but there are good things that are Cheap....
I am using Jebo n Jebao filters since memorial and I have no complaints on them.....
as long as an equipment serve its purpose, like a filter.. cheap or not doesn't really matter. But some of us tend to support a certain brand
