    hi

    tank specs:
size = 4 feet by 2 feet by 2 feet
    light = 36 X 8, 10 hours daily
    c02 injection = 12 hours, ph 6.6 - 6.7, kh 3-4(?)
heavily planted with ferns, cripus, nana, moss, crypts
    water temp at 27 deg
    water change 40% weekly

    dosage weekly:
    40ml easilylife profito
    1.5 tspn KNO3 (15ppm)
    2.5 tspn K2SO4
    1 ppm KH2PO4
10 cupfull of flourish excel with 1 cupfull daily after

    problem:
moss browning and plagued by thread algae
tellenus planted three weeks ago not proceducing any runners (not growing??)
plants bubbling more at first day of water change and fert dosage, lesser into the week.

with the thread algae and the plants not growing well, i guess there is something wrong with my fert dosage. so any advice? thanks

    cheers

Why do you question mark your KH value? You must be sure that your CO2 levels are sufficient.

You can stop the K2SO4... you get K enough from KNO3. Drop KNO3 to 10ppm, but dose it 3 times a week. Dose KH2PO4 3 times a week as well. With this new routine, see if your plants pearl more. If yes, good.

If not, then keep the above routine and divide your Profito dose to 3 times a week too. See if that helps.

Personally, I would cut down to 6x36W of lights, but don't do this the same time that you are trying out the new routine above.

Double check your thermometer. Aquarium hobby standard thermometer are not very accurate... they can be off by a few degrees. If you have a clinical thermometer, use that to gauge your aquarium thermometer.

Also check your tank water circulation. Do the algae seem to prefer any particular part of your tank?

    hi

i am injecting the c02 via a bioplast internal reactor (7bps) as well as a dennerle flipper (3bps), which is the max the c02 can be dissolved. i am quite sure that the c02 and the water circulation should be ok.

so for KNO3 should dose 3 times at 3.3ppm each?
for KH2SO4 also dose 3 times at 0.33 ppm each?

    cheers

No, don't split the KNO3 and KH2PO4 doses.

    3 times a week, enough KNO3 to raise 10ppm NO3 and KH2PO4 to raise 1ppm PO4 at each dose.

Vinz was correct about the CO2.

You need to look at that more.
    There's enough light, K, NO3, PO4 traces..........

All that's left are GH and CO2.

Check the KH more and pH.

Check at the end of the light peroid and about 1 hour in, perhaps midday as well and see.

The only thing that would slow some of these easy to grow plants down: CO2 and that seems to be it.

    Dose the KNO3(1 teaspoon), KH2PO4(1/8"-1/5" teaspoon) 3x a week, that's plenty.

Add traces on off days, 20mls each time.

    Add more CO2.

Moss has little requirements.............CO2 is the main one though.
