Walking Catfish!!

Just out of curiosity, does anyone here have experience keeping walking catfish and/or are interested in getting one?

Walking catfish, or Clarias species, come from varied habitats and requirements depending on the species.

If you want something easy to start with, then those bags of feeder Clarias batrachus (probably) fry should be your first choice. They are easy to keep and grow fast. Those in the feeder bags will feed happily on brine shrimp, Tubifex worm, frozen bloodworm, etc. Any sinking foods will be taken greedily by them.

I kept some caught from the drain as a kid but soon put them back after getting bored.You can also feed floating pellets for more interaction as they will sweep the surface. Get ready a large tank or pond. Try looking for the piebald or albino colored ones. They look more interesting but quite hard to find. Not safe with fish smaller than them.
